Golf at Executive Golf Course@Seletar

Had my first golf course at Seletar this afternoon. Wasn't really looking forward to it at first cos I was worried about looking bad in front professional and seasoned players. Turned out to be so fun and I did quite well too! For par 3 hole, I managed to get avg of 5. Sometimes even 4. Din get any drains or bunkers! Thinking of investing in pair of gd golf shoes n gloves.. Clubs and bag later!..

Killer sandwich

Gardenia country loaf - toasted.
Spread with cream cheese then place a few slices of SHAVED breakfast ham.

It's a killer! Can't even stop at 2 slices..

Alive ..

Check out the chicken stew I just cooked in about 35 min! Came bk after work at bout 530 pm n started whipping up this dish almost immed for my two hungry kids at home. There's something so satisfying about cooking for someone you love. It really makes me happy to see the one I love enjoying my food..

That's real love. Giving something from your heart, sharing your labour. Yesterday I asked God to teach me what real love is cos I really feel confused by what ppl profess to be love and yet it makes me so upset.

Well I allow Him to examine my heart and change it. I don't want behavior modification but true heart transformation. I believe God is able to bring me to the real love I've always sought for. After all, He is love. Who better to ask for it than Him, rite?

I can't believe the number of suitors I got when I joined this 'friendship' website just out of curiosity. I had so many requests and messages within 24 hours. I was told I was beautiful, pretty and charming. But unlike the crow in the fable, I know I could be told all these just for one reason- they wanna get into my pants! Well I hv better things to do with my precious time than meet strange men day after day, week after week in the hope of finding someone I can 'click' with... Cos I know from experience that even if that happens, it won't be long before these men tire of me and start searching for new 'bait' online.. They'd call/text me less n less..from 20 msgs or more a day to just maybe one or two a day or even less..with the excuse that they ate busy with work n family when they are actually pursuing new 'interests'.. I'd be kept like a spare car at the side, to bring out to 'ride' if nothing's happening or working out with the new pursuits..

Sigh.. I'm so cynical now that it will take a brainwash to get me back online into all that chatting and meeting..I realise now that I really do look good for my age but to these men, they don't appreciate it. They want young, fleshy, busty and wild. Well they dun realise that when they meet these gals n get into the sack with them, they are also just the flavour of the month..

What I really want in a relationship isn't just attraction and 'fun'. I need the soul bonding, caring and sharing..looking for that in chatlines is like looking for a goldfish in the ocean.. Simply impossible..

But i believe there are people out there who want what I need too. I'm a one man woman and I believe there are also one-woman men out there who are into r/s for the long long haul. Amen..

Going swimming now.. Going to enjoy the refreshing flow of cool water and the grace and poise I feel as I swim..

Looking forward to my workout

On my way to the gym now. Brought extra clothing to change into cos last wk was so soaked in sweat I was embarrassed !

Lunch at Bakerzin@suntec

There's an all-day set @10.90 for selected pasta n drink, so decided to go in and try it together with the creme brûlée which is usually sold outby evening.

Ordered roast chicken teriyaki with rice and linguine with bratswurst..

The linguine tasted quite gd but a bit too oily for my taste. Its like eating char Kway teow cos it is cooked in black sauce!

Wow the creme brûlée is so lovely! Started eating before I realised I hv not taken a pic yet, haha! The top is crispy n sweet while the filling is so creamy and soft.

In the mood for cooking..

Facial yesterday afternoon at Avon@central was good! The beautician's facial massage skills were very good. Bought my usual supply of Biolab's Vit A & C serums. Not sure if they hv bn all that effective but i figure prevention is better than cure. On the way back in the NE line, I stopped over at Serangoon Nex to pick up Japanese udon from cold storage. Only udon from Japan will do for my family when it comes to cooking Yaki-udon. The udon at NTUC just can't make it. I found this new brand of fresh thin udon, comes 5 in a pack. Picked up sour cream too, u'd find out why later.. Reached home, had enough time to marinade the prawns and put the laundry into the machine before heading out to do my pedicure nearby. Haiz, the vanity of a woman but oh, i so love being one!

The Yaki- udon was a success as usual. The recipe I got many years ago from a friend who worked in a Jap restaurant in USA never fails me! My son thanked me after eating a huge plate of the noodles, smiling from ear to ear. The minute I finished cooking the noodles, my kids rushed like hungry famished ppl in a famine into the kitchen! The aroma of the cooking must hv driven them nuts!

Yeah tell me about it, I'm really in the mood for cooking this weekend. I woke up this morn, a lil groggy from a deep long sleep and despite dropping an egg on the floor, I went on to cook French toast and baked blueberry muffins, all in an hour. Yup, the sour cream was for the blueberry muffins. Plus washing up, which is what I really love to do. Maybe It's my love for swimming but I just enjoy washing a huge load of dirty dishes and seeing the whole kitchen clean as though no cooking has taken place! In fact after cooking, I usually wash up all the cooking utensils n clean up the cooking area before I sit down to eat. It is such a complete feeling of satisfaction to see the kitchen clean again.

Yes, I have to admit- I'm a very intense person. When I love to do something, i go all out into it! Tonite it will be open-faced sandwiches with cream cheese and shaved ham and homemade mushroom soup. Might as well ride the wave while it's high!

Post pics of my blueberry muffins later. I could not resist eating one just now even tho I would be eating at Kaffe & Toast later. The muffin was incredibly soft, light, airy and yummy.. So proud of myself!

Killer workout and wonderful recipe

Just finished my new killer workout. Gosh the second exercise - bent row pushups and the dumbbell t-stabilization is anything but dumb! Can only do two sets of each.. Sweating like crazy now..

As for the recipe, my kids said it was delicious! They wiped out two of the cod! Easy to cook but makes the whole house smell of teriyaki sauce. Lucky I've got scented candles to get rid of the odor..

Missing him so much now, his smile and the way he makes me feel so good just with his touch. Why is it that we are so far apart? I need him like the desert needs the rain..

New recipe and new workout for this week

Darn, I'm back to 50 kg after all the eating in Batam. Well I'm going to work it off this week with a new workout that helps to shed 5 pounds! I don't want to shed more than that as I like to be a bit fleshy n soft as all women should be! I will be doing 3 circuits x 10 reps of each move... Will post the results after 2 weeks. Will be doing it 3 times a week.

As for dinner I'd be trying out this teriyaki cod recipe.. Let's see how it turns out.

God is my best sports buddy

Walking back now after a good 2.8 km run= 7 rounds! Last wk I did 6 rounds. All sweaty and flushed and feelng good! This is a good exercise to do on a Sunday! It's so boring at home in the afternoon. Hub at pc watching anime or sleeping, kids in their rooms on their pc too. Rather than chat meaninglessly with strangers, which was what I used to do in the distant past, or sleeping, I'm going to hit the gym every Sunday afternoon, followed by a good run at the stadium track.. I'm sure if I make it a regular affair, I'd bound to get to know some ppl. Today i managed to chat with the gym receptionist guy. At least these are people who are interesting to chat with cos they share similar interests. Wish there are more ladies who go to this gym.

Another activity I can do is go cycling at Bishan park Or go swimming at CSC @ tessensohn. Guess I'm just not the average stay-at-home and watch TV with hub kind of wife. I shd hv married a sporty guy who can't stay at home for long like those men I see at the track or gym on Sundays. They are usually alone or if their wives are with them, they are sitting at the side drinking and waiting! Well it's too late to turn bk the clock now.

Well God is my best sports buddy cos He never fOrsakes me. Everywhere I go, He goes with me. Isn't that cool?

Need sports to revive me

After a lazy day of church n visiting, i feel so lethargic! The only thing that can perk me up right now at 515 pm is a good workout! Already put on my running gear, heading out to Bishan Stadium for a gd run. Well just seeing others run already motivates me!

Another FANtastic Holiday...

What a nice break wif my buddies from school.. Lots of laughter, jokes, eating, gossip, role-playing (wink) and golf! We're now having withdrawal symptoms.. It's not just the place, it's the connection with the people you are with.. I recall my reallly fun holidays and one of them was in Ubin ..just an overnight camp but had so much fun that it remains one of my most memorable holidays.. Another one was in KL ...

Building Healthy Relationships

My focus in this stage of my life is to build healthy relationships.. Here are some things I read that really makes sense...

Outside Pressures on the Relationship

Differences in Background. Even partners coming from very similar cultural, religious, or economic backgrounds can benefit from discussing their expectations of how a good boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse behaves. What seems obvious or normal to you may surprise your partner, and vice versa. If you are from different backgrounds, be aware that you may need to spend more time and energy to build your relationship. Take the time to learn about your partner's culture or religion, being careful to check out what parts of such information actually fit for your partner.

Time Together and Apart. How much time you spend together and apart is a common relationship concern. If you interpret your partner's time apart from you as, "he or she doesn't care for me as much as I care for him or her," you may be headed for trouble by jumping to conclusions. Check out with your partner what time alone means to him or her, and share your feelings about what you need from the relationship in terms of time together. Demanding what you want, regardless of your partner's needs, usually ends up driving your partner away, so work on reaching a compromise.

Your Partner's Family. For many students, families remain an important source of emotional, if not financial, support during their years at the university. Some people find dealing with their partner's family difficult or frustrating. It can help to take a step back and think about parental good intentions. Families may offer well-intentioned advice about your relationship or your partner. It's important that the two of you discuss and agree on how you want to respond to differing family values and support one another in the face of what can be very intense "suggestions" from family.

Friends. There are some people who seem to believe that "I have to give up all my friends unless my partner likes them as much as I do." Giving up friends is not healthy for you or the relationship, except in circumstances where your friends pressure you to participate in activities that are damaging to yourself and the relationship. At the same time, keep in mind that your partner may not enjoy your friends as much as you do. Negotiate which friends you and your partner spend time with together. You might ask: "Which of my friends do you enjoy seeing and which ones would you rather I see alone or at other times when I'm not with you?"

Eight Basic Steps to Maintaining a Good Relationship

Be aware of what you and your partner want for yourselves and what you want from the relationship.
Let one another know what your needs are.
Realize that your partner will not be able to meet all your needs. Some of these needs will have to be met outside of the relationship.
Be willing to negotiate and compromise on the things you want from one another.
Do not demand that a partner change to meet all your expectations. Work to accept the differences between your ideal mate and the real person you are dating.
Try to see things from the other's point of view. This doesn't mean that you must agree with one another all the time, but rather that both of you can understand and respect each other's differences, points of view, and separate needs.
Where critical differences do exist in your expectations, needs, or opinions, try to work honestly and sincerely to negotiate. Seek professional help early rather than waiting until the situation becomes critical.
Do your best to treat your partner in a way that says, "I love you and trust you, and I want to work this out."
